Hello, hello :) I've been meaning to join this community for a while, but just kept putting it off. The reason I'm here is kind of unorthodox, I guess. I'm actually nowhere near Stockton, CA -- I'm a Canadian girl from Ottawa! -- but followed the Thunder during the season because of one player in particular: Ryan O'Marra.

I've been following him since his junior days, and since he turned pro, it's been a little more difficult keeping up-to-date with his status and performance. I know where he plays this coming season is still up in the air, but if he did happen to land back in Stockton, I wanted to be prepared.

I was wondering if anyone could provide or direct to me any photos of Ryan as a Thunder, whether it be on or off the ice. I feel like I've searched every source possible on the internet without any luck, and gosh darnit, I miss that boy like craaazy. Just to let you know, I'm a stickler for creditting, so anything you can help me with will be properly acknowledged. You can check my userinfo and icons if you'd like to be sure :)

Other than that, I really hope you Stockton fans enjoyed having Ryan for the year and that he made a good impression on you. If anyone has any stories, I'd love to hear those as well!

All the icons and graphics here are gorgeous, by the way!

PS. My name is Aisys, but I also go by Ice. Guess I could have said that in the beginning, but I suck at intros, heh.

To the few of you who actually read our small community, I apologize for the lack of updates. Real life has gotten in the way for blank___page and I, but I promise to have updates before the next home game (Wed). Forgive me? plzkthnxbie

I know this isn't a game update (which we're failing at), but it's an offering or bribe to get you to bring in more members from one fan to another.

I decided to include 2039850948 resolutions because everyone's got a different setting these days with widescreens being in the mix. If you don't see yours on here and you're crazy enough to actually like my crap designing let me know and I'll hook you up.

WE WON!

TWICE! Last night at Fresno (3-2) and tonight (5-2)!

the recapCollapse )

Player Update: Andy Contois was traded for former Thunder player Lance Monych earlier this week. Welcome back kind sir! Yesterday, we signed on Joel Stepp. Welcome to the family! I'm not sure if we know his number yet. He was listed as #0 still on the roster. Also, be happy to hear that we've got Jacob McFlickier and Bision (?) back with us!! They should be back on the ice with us in March, so be on the look out for them.

Also, welcome back to Ryan Geris and Adam Huxley, who are back with us from injury leave! We missed you guys! Unfortunately, Ryan MacMurchy suffered a concussion a week or so ago during a home game and it turns out there was more to his injury than they first thought there was. Don't have the specifics, but we're keeping you in our thoughts Ryan. We also haven't given a proper welcome to Jason Beeman, who we got from the Asian League earlier this month and is another CA native. So, welcome!

Congrats: Happy 100th career goal to Tim Verbeek!! We're proud man! Great job! *hugs*

So, I finally did something with the profile page. We now have a small intro form! Fill it out guys. You know you want to. *peer pressure*

Name: Joey (female)
Age: 21
Fan Since: 2005
My Favorite Player: Paukovich, Farynuk, and Schwartz (And Spurgeon from last season)
Favorite Part About The Games: The beginning of the third period. Everyone's excited and the third period usually brings forth some crazy times.
Season Ticket Holder?: Indeed, thanks to blank___page, because I'm dirt poor.
Anything Else?: I'm only filling this out because I want you guys to see what it looks like when you do. I'll probably post some icons soon. If you click on the "graphics" tag, I did a challenge for 100 icons on last season. I've applied to do it again for this season at 10x10variated. It's intense.

And that's it! See, easy. Seriously took me about 5-7 minutes. Although, everything takes about 5-7 minutes for me, but whatever.

ALSO! There is a new tag system. Please use it guys. Makes it easier on me because then I don't have to convert 235092985 entries. Not like we have that many but still... TAG!

So, I wasn't there at tonight's game, but I did manage to listen to it online at the Thunder site. We lost 3-1, our one goal made unassisted by Pauko. There have been jersey number changes. This list will be updated as I get the information:

Player Number Changes:
  • Geoff Paukovich - #11

We think Pauko's new number is in homage to his best friend, McFlickier, who is out of the AHL on injury. It's still unknown yet if McFlickier's injury is career-ending, but we're all hoping for a full recovery. Pauko and McFlick were roommates and friends. I love you Pauko, and I shall be your McFlick replacement. I'm short, too. It's perfect. Give me a call. Linda can help you out.

    /shameless plugging

Our next few games are away games, but as always, you can listen to the games for free on the Thunder site, or watch the game for 6$. The quality's pretty good, too. I don't recommend for anyone who doesn't have Cable or DSL, though. Also, I didn't get a chance to get this up earlier, but the All-Stars game was on NHLN (NHL Network) earlier today. I saw myself! It was weird. I'm going to try and see if they have advanced schedules on the site and see if the ECHL pops up anymore on it. Don't forget: you can catch us on Ch. 10 news at 10p on game nights. My parents have seen me on there as well.

If any of you fans are at the games, look for us (blank___page & I) in section 118 on the glass. We have the kid that always holds up the creative signs during the games and on the opposite end of Turkey Man!

EDIT: Btw, comm has a new banner (something happened to the old one), a new tag system, and now has links. Our updated comm, let me show you it.

Well guys, we lost tonight 1-4 against the Las Vegas Wranglers.

Here's a quick recap of the gameCollapse )

Player Update: Tonight marked Tim Verbeek's first game back. Welcome home! While we greet back Verbeek, we say farewell once again to Thunder captain Brad Farnyuk, who has returned to Springfield for the fourth time this season. Sources say its unknown yet still if he'll be back before the All-Star game, but we'll keep you posted as the information comes. Beau Geisler is still out on injury. Sources say again that it is unknown if he'll be back on the ice before the end of the season. Focus on your health first, Beau. Spencer Carbery was also out on injury and Mark Adamek is was out for a family emergency. We hope you guys recover well and our thoughts are with you Adamek.

Jersey Raffle: Tonight's Jersey Raffle was for the game-worn jersey off O'Connell's back! Our friend, Randy or The Turkey Many if you've seen him at the games, won Tim's jersey. Congrats!

Teddy Bear Toss 2008: Brandon Schwartz graced us with the goal that sent stuffed animals of call kinds (including three large ones of a shark, Sponge Bob, and a gorilla) over the glass and onto the ice during the third period. I was under seige of four toys: one a Superman with a plastic head, a small mechanical one that had a hard plastic body coming dangerously close to my head, a giraffe that got stuck in the net (it was a good try getting it down though Schwartz), and a small beanie that messed me completely. People need to realize that you cannot make it over those nets. I'm a the glass and constantly in fear for my life of Chuck-A-Pucks and toys and hats. Three trucks were filled and I do believe we passed last year's total of over 3,600 toys. WAY TO GO GUYS!! :D

Congrats: Standing ovation for our coach, Chris Cichocki, for his 200th win! (Is it win Ruffin? Correct me, I forgot exactly what Melissa said) After Wednesday's make-up game win against Fresno, the team awarded Cichocki with a game puck in honor of his achievement!

    And a last note:
WE HAD A SOLD OUT GAME OF 9,737!!!
HELL YEAH WE'RE THE BEST FANS IN THE LEAGUE!

Has any one else noticed that the Brandon Schwartz jersey missing from the fan attic?
    IT WAS MEEE
But I want to tell you a little story.
I didn't buy it for myself.
I asked my fiance who his mom's fave player was, Brandon was it.
SO I spent 240 for her tears of joy receiving an early bday present.
I walked up stairs wearin the jersey, flauntin it, just as she was about to get upset n call me a bit... heh
I said you like it? you like it? she said yeah, I said here ya go, took it off, here's your early bday present(her bday is in august!)
    She cried ;o)

ON ANOTHER NOTE, CONGRATS BOYS! For beating the Alaska Aces 5-4 in over time!

I'm going to miss Jesse, Bennefield(traded to the Condors for Carbery and LaChance) he was such a great guy to hang out with, he's been traded, Cam Ellsworth was to Pensacola traded as well.
Our new goalie Tim Boron is VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRY Flexible, if any one ever needs pix, I've snapped a lot for one of the Stockton Thunder myspace fan sites. We did acquire back Goulet and Farynuk from Springfield tho.

Congratulations to our Lil' Liam Reddox for his grand debut to the Oilers!

LOL! I know guys. I'm a horrible human being and a bad mod. I promise to start updating for now on that the season is in full swing. Small updating today:

  • Captain and defensemen Brad Farynuk is back from Springfield officially! Welcome back, Brad.
  • Tim Boron, goaltender from the Charlotte Checkers, is now on the roaster.

Be on the lookout for the next game on Nov. 28 (away) against the Utah Grizzlies. Crush 'em boys!

Sorry about not updating for 2 weeks guys. Life's been crazy and quiet in the Thunder world. I come bearing a new article I found on the official ECHL website that was originally published in the Stockton Record.

Well guys, looks like this is the end of the road for us.

The final score for Game #5 was 6-1 Idaho.

We did good out there though, and the scores against us weren't Doob's fault. The other team got lucky shots. Good news is: they don't stand a chance against Las Vegas in Round 2!

Be on the look out for up-coming graphics, player profiles of the week, and constant updates on the team members and Thunder news!

Welcome to the ONLY lj comm dedicated to THE STOCKTON THUNDER! I'm really excited. Especially after last game? I wanted to create something to cheer people up. What better way than with a lj comm for our boys!

    So, here's how I'm hoping it'll go:

There will be a short recap of each game, graphics posts, discussions, maybe some polls, maybe some contests. Anyone interested in helping out? Spread the word over MySpace to the fans there. There are a LOT of MySpace groups and I know the fans would love to come over here.

I mean, hey, why the hell are all the fans there and not here right? Let's spread the love. Below is an image that you guys can use. I don't mind hotlinking FOR THIS ONE IMAGE, but help me out and save it to your own lj server or photobucket server if you can. Thanks a bunch guys! Let's have a good time, yeah?
